Located at Arlington's Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, one of the design from in central axis open as a cascade of green terraces along to matching the academic need with two country-wide school programs . The H-B Woodlawn Program and Eunice Kennedy Shriver Program accommodate up to 775 student at a time in a new area of 180,000 sf building. 

 

The Height located at a compact urban site bounded by roads on three differernt sides and a portion of Rosslynn Highlands Park. The heights buildings is concevided as a stack of five rectangular floorplates that rotate around a fixed pivot point to allow space used in a arrow building, maintaining the community feeling and spatical efficiencies of a one story school.

Green terraces above each floor allow an extension space for classroom which creating an indoor and outdoor platform learning landscape for the students and stuff. As become a an educational oasis rather a traditional school setting. The rotating central staircase cuts through the interior of the building to connect the four - tiered terraces to allow student to circulate outside and forge a stronger bond between the schol and surrounding area.  While the upper terraces are suitable for quiet study area and intimate class due to the height and the spacious first terrace can serve as a public neighorhood activites and public event for schoolwide.

Base on the case study, the site has been maximise of space using vertical layout and maintain the same feeling of a one story building. the multipe level allow a new green area to adjacent for the classroom and creates with 4 cascading terraces. It definitely consider into design approach in the coming stage.
